Yoodong Moon was born in a small rural town in South Korea. Since he was young, he loved to explore and traveled many countries. He also studied abroad in Australia and Japan. Then he moved to Maryland, where he began his career at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry. Following dental school, Dr. Moon moved to Anchorage, Alaska, and practiced full time as a general dentist for several years, thus gaining a broad experience in all fields of dentistry. When his daughter was born, he and his family moved to Palatine, IL, to be near his wife’s family. Dr. Moon remains updated on all the latest dental advancements by continuing to attend educational courses and seminars. He also diligently reads professional journals and publications in all areas of dentistry. He has completed a leading implant course, Implant MaxiCourses at Loma Linda University, Endodontic courses at DELendo with Dr. Buchanan, and many others. He devotes many days to continuing dental education courses, well above the requirements of Illinois law. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and Chicago Dental Society. Dr. Moon and wife, Yun, have a lovely daughter named Adelyn. Dr. Moon enjoys playing golf, soccer, and table tennis and loves spending time with his daughter.
